Riu specializes in all inclusive beach resorts. Founded in 1953 in Spain, Riu has won its clientele’s trust through personalized service. Riu has 110 hotels in 18 countries and classifies them in four groups: Classic, ClubHotels, Palace and Grand Palace.
Riu Classic Hotels
All inclusive beach resorts. Classic hotels offer the amenities and services expected from a 5 star beach resort (in-room minibar, room service, concierge) a plus others that have become a hallmark of Riu’s service:
Speciality buffet dinner: Mexican, Brazilian or Japanese cuisine (reservation required) or theme buffet dinner twice a week. Snack and drink service is available 24 hours a day in resorts and Classic Hotels have a minimum of two speciality restaurants and two bars.
Riu hotels feature the Renova Spa with beauty, relax, or health treatments; fitness center and some also feature the Pacha night club, open 6 nights a week.
Riu Clubhotels
There’s no significant difference between Classic and ClubHotels. Both are located in prime beach locations and feature a vast list of options in cuisine, sports and entertainment.
Riu Palace Hotels
The luxury brand of Riu. They offer all the services and amenities of Classic and ClubHotels and distinguish themselves through elegant and elaborate architecture and details like regulated temperature pools, children water park and free wireless internet access. In Mexico, you can find Riu Palace Hotels in Cabo San Lucas, Cancun and Nuevo Vallarta.
Riu Grand Palace Hotels
Grand Palace offers amenities and services exclusive to this category. For guests that look for highly personalized service and luxury in rooms, facilities and amenities. There is only one Grand Palace hotel so far, the Riu Grand Palace Maspalomas Oasis, located in the Gran Canaria island, in front of the Moroccan coast.
